About Graham Coxon — St John's Church

Graham Coxon — Blur's guitarist and one of the most quietly influential English musicians of his generation — plays St John's Church in Kingston upon Thames on Friday 24 July 2026, a Banquet Records show with doors at 7pm, open to ages 14+. Coxon's solo catalogue runs from scratchy lo-fi to pastoral folk, and in recent years he's ranged even wider, from soundtrack work to The Waeve; a church acoustic — stone, candlelight, everyone seated close — is about the best possible room for it.

Banquet's church shows are a Kingston institution: reverent-sounding, early-finishing, and usually paired with a record signing. St John's is a short walk from Kingston station, with fast trains from London Waterloo taking around half an hour. It's one of three Banquet shows in town that same night, so book a hotel in Kingston, catch Coxon in the church, and be at the record shop's racks when they open the next morning.
