Hosted stays — our rules
We accept press trips and hosted stays. Three rules, written before our first offer existed. Not negotiable.
Always disclosed
Any content that comes from a hosted or comped stay says so, on that content. No exceptions.
Never affects results
Hosted stays have zero effect on search results, rankings, prices or badges. The marketplace does not know they happened.

Photographs, a first-hand "we visited" account, destination-guide material. Labelled, always.

About the founder
local-hotel.com was founded by Nick Boyle— twenty years, 430,000 km and 32 countries of GPS-tracked travel, much of it solo and by motorcycle. The data is public. Thirty years a back-end engineer, he builds the site solo, with AI — hardening security, keeping search accessible and friendly — and says so, like everything else here. Two decades of padded exchange rates and “only one room left” that wasn’t — so he built the honest one. He’s more beach shack than five-star, which is rather the point: same flat margin, same real exchange rate, whether the night costs £14 or £900.
