Stopped for a night's rest
Pros: The exterior of the house is nice, and the service staff is very friendly. Cons: It's an old house, with outdated facilities inside, and a very small bathroom. There is a big difference compared to the bright photos online.

Charming place, but in need of some refreshing.
Pros: Cozy room with charming old-fashioned décor that gives the place a unique character. Good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, and a comfortable bed made for a pleasant stay. Cons: The room could have been cleaner, and some parts of it showed their age. There was some dust, and the furniture, carpet, and bathroom looked quite worn. The shower fixtures had noticeable limescale buildup, the shower cabin was yellowed, and the walls had visible scuff marks. The price-performance ratio was inconsistent
Pros: There was the option to have breakfast in the garden, enjoying the sun. Cons: The furnishings were rather inferior or uncharming. The breakfast was loveless.

My recent stay
Pros: The breakfast service, the staff, and the location were great as I was attending a conference at Oxford Brookes University. Cons: I was there during the very hot weather and the rooms need to at least have portable fans available as it was hard to sleep. This impacted some ratings regarding the room. Being there at other times of year would have been better.
