Hotels near Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (ATH)

Athens airport sits well out on the Mesogeia plain at Spata-Artemida, some way from the city centre, so anyone booking here is almost certainly doing it for the flight, not for sightseeing. That narrows the decision to a simple one: how much do you value proximity over everything else? The Sofitel Athens Airport is the obvious answer for convenience, a genuine 0.1 km walk from the terminal — about as close as you can get without sleeping in the departure lounge. It suits red-eye departures, delayed arrivals, or simply travellers who'd rather not deal with luggage and transfers after a long journey.

Beyond that single walk-in option, the picture thins out quickly. If neither of those closer options suits, staying more generally in Spata-Artemida is worth considering, particularly if your flight times are relaxed enough to absorb a short taxi or shuttle transfer in exchange for potentially better rates.

Given how spread out the wider area is, and how little there is to do around the airport itself, this is very much a functional base: pick the terminal-adjacent hotel if your schedule is tight, or accept a slightly longer transfer from Spata-Artemida if you're chasing value.
