The AIG Women's Open — the women's game's oldest major and its only one played on links — makes its debut at Royal St George's in Sandwich, Kent, from Thursday 29 July to Sunday 1 August 2027. One of England's great championship links and a regular host of the men's Open, Royal St George's gives the women's championship a superb stage on the Kent coast, and a links major here will draw huge crowds to the south-east in high summer.

The AIG Women's Open traces its roots to 1976 and gained major status in the women's game as the sport's championship played on links, in the tradition of the men's Open. Long staged at Britain's great seaside courses — Woburn, Royal Lytham, Carnoustie, Muirfield, Walton Heath and St Andrews among them — it brings the world's best women golfers to the same historic links that shaped the game, and its arrival at Royal St George's in 2027 marks the first time the championship has been played at the famous Kent course.
