The Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail International Circuit is a sprint-format night race in the desert north of Doha, a fast and flowing lap that reaches its full spectacle only after dark, when floodlights illuminate the track against the Gulf sky. The 2026 weekend runs Friday 27 November to Sunday 29 November.

November in Qatar is warm and reliably clear — ideal for open grandstand viewing — and the cooling desert nights make the race a pleasure after the summer heat. Doha's Lusail Metro Line runs directly to the circuit, making the 20-kilometre journey from the Corniche hotels straightforward. Stay along the waterfront or in the West Bay hotel district; the Souq Waqif bazaar and Museum of Islamic Art are worth an extra night either side.

The Qatar Grand Prix is a floodlit night race held at the Lusail International Circuit, north of the capital Doha. The track was built in 2004, chiefly for MotoGP, and hosted its first Formula 1 race in 2021, when Qatar stepped in to fill a gap in the calendar; a long-term agreement then brought the grand prix back from 2023 as a permanent fixture.

With the Lusail Metro connecting the track to Doha's waterfront and a wealth of new hotels, museums and the historic Souq Waqif nearby, Qatar has quickly established itself as a popular late-season stop.
