About F1 United States Grand Prix 2026
Fans arrive in numbers for the atmosphere as much as the racing itself, with concerts and fan festivities running alongside the on-track action. Texan heat and long sightlines across the circuit's elevation changes make this one of the more physically demanding stops on the calendar for drivers and spectators alike.

History
The United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas has become the defining American weekend of the Formula 1 season. Opened in 2012 as the first purpose-built Formula 1 circuit in the United States, the Austin track was designed by Hermann Tilke and borrows some of the sport's greatest corners, most famously a steep uphill blast to the Turn 1 hairpin and a flowing set of esses inspired by Silverstone and Suzuka.
Over its 5.5 kilometres it has produced fine racing and a run of success for Lewis Hamilton, who has won here more often than any other driver. Beyond the track it is a festival as much as a race, with crowds across the weekend regularly topping 400,000 and headline concerts drawing fans who barely watch the cars.
Austin is the perfect host: live music pours out of the honky-tonks every night, the Texas barbecue is legendary, and a city built around live events makes a grand prix feel entirely at home. The circuit lies around fifteen miles southeast of downtown.
