Latin America's biggest arts festival takes over one of Mexico's most beautiful cities for a fortnight: 212 performances from 2,746 artists across 28 countries — music, theatre, dance, opera and film — staged in Guanajuato's colonial theatres, plazas and tunnels, with France the guest of honour for this 54th edition.

The city itself is half the show: a UNESCO-listed maze of alleys and painted houses where estudiantinas lead singing crowds through the streets at night. Book early — Guanajuato is small and the festival fills it completely.
