Riders take on a closed-road circuit that runs through towns, over mountain terrain and along narrow country lanes, with stone walls and hedgerows inches from the racing line. Practice and race days depend heavily on weather, since mist on the mountain section can halt proceedings entirely. First run in 1907 and staged on the Mountain Course since 1911, the Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) is the oldest motorcycle race still held on its original roads.
