Hotels for Sapporo Snow Festival 2027

Japan's great winter carnival: for a week in deepest February, Sapporo's mile-and-a-half Odori Park fills with snow sculptures the size of buildings, floodlit into the evening, with the Susukino ice site and the family-friendly Tsu Dome rounding out three venues. It began in 1950 with six statues by local students; it now draws two million visitors, so book months out — the city's hotels genuinely sell through. Dress for minus ten, eat the miso ramen, and stay near Odori station so the warmth is never far.
