The Sachsenring is MotoGP's German round, a clockwise circuit in the wooded hills of Saxony near Hohenstein-Ernstthal, known for its demanding left-handed hairpin Kehre and a passionate camping crowd that fills the surrounding hillsides. Chemnitz, 15 kilometres north, is the nearest city with a good range of hotels; the small Erzgebirge towns offer a more local base but book out early. The German GP is the biggest event the area sees all year and rooms anywhere within 30 kilometres are gone well in advance. Book promptly and enjoy the forested Saxony countryside around the race.
