World Superbike's Portuguese round runs at Estoril from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026, on the storied circuit above the Portuguese Riviera. Few race weekends anywhere offer a better base: the elegant resort towns of Estoril and Cascais are minutes from the gates, all Atlantic promenades, beaches and seafood restaurants, with the fairy-tale palaces of Sintra twenty minutes into the hills and Lisbon itself half an hour by the coastal train.

October keeps the Atlantic light golden and the crowds thin, which makes this one of the best value big race weekends in Europe — though the seafront hotels still fill for race week, so book the good ones early.

World Superbike's Portuguese round is staged at the Circuito do Estoril, opened in 1972 in the hills above the Atlantic resort coast west of Lisbon. For over a decade it was a Formula 1 venue, hosting the Portuguese Grand Prix from 1984 to 1996 — most memorably in 1985, when a young Ayrton Senna took the first grand prix win of his career in torrential rain, a drive still regarded as one of the finest wet-weather performances ever seen.

The 4.2-kilometre circuit is quick and flowing, with a long main straight that rewards bravery and top speed, and its position near the sea makes for a spectacular backdrop.
