APA Hotel Higashi Shinjuku Ekimae

Pros: Staff was easy to talk to. Cons: Room very small. The breakfast was very very basic. Don't take breakfast there!!! It is too expensive! And they are too rigid.

A great location. Far enough from the chaos of kabukicho yet close enough to keep it arms reach.

Pros: The location is directly across from 2 Higashi-Shinjuku station exits and easily walkable distance to Shinjuku. (15-20 min which is normal for Tokyo). Lots of taxi drive by which makes this prime location for moving around the city. The staff were friendly and tried their best to speak English and were always accessible. The rooms were maintained very well with APA schedule and the cleaning staff were friendly. Cons: The hotel has only one elevator, again normal for Tokyo hotels of this size. Plan your timing accordingly to make trains or pickup times.

The minimum for what you need

Pros: Staff was really helpful and the room was clean. Location was also good next to a metro but a bit far from the center.. about 15-20 walk. Cons: The bed was so uncomfortable. Only one elevator. No extra bottle of water each day. One day I had a big bug on my bed and when I tried to kill it , it ran away and disappeared. But one of the staff came to help me find it which were with no luck so i asked to change the room which they couldn't because of full occupancy. So i didn't sleep that night but next day they changed my room. Over all the hotel in nice but small
