10.0Fabulous ❤️
This little hotel is completely my taste and easily my number one spot in London. The staff are very friendly, and genuinely helpful from the moment you step inside. The Grand Suite is incredible—the bed is super comfortable, the shower is great, and that bathtub is just glorious. Downstairs is a total win too, with a proper good burger, a nice glass of Malbec, and an amazing Basque cheesecake. Add in quick, painless check-in and brilliant artwork on the walls, and I was sold from start to finish.
Full of character and a good location
Our third or fourth stay over a 4 year period. We still really like the vibe and feel of the hotel. But some of the service was not so great. I felt like a second class citizen at breakfast times. We booked our time and yet were dismissively told where to sit (a table behind check-in/ near the coffee machine/ kitchen door). When I asked if we could sit in a specific area for our next two breakfasts I was told that tables in that area were not able to be reserved. I got the feeling that local people got preferential access to those tables - Despite paying £450/night for our room. However, on o
Hardware great, software disappointing.
The place, location, decoration and family spirit are great. However, the staff was not matching this atmosphere, they really behave like they do not care much, service at dinner was totally impersonal, it felt like staying in an average motel (but you still pay £500 a night). This is too bad because all the rest is well done.
Nice hotel, would've loved it but the staff left a sour taste
Pros: The hotel and location were great, the staff that met us and served us on the day of check in were lovely. We had issues with the staff on Sunday morning when checking out and wanting to order breakfast.
Cons: On Sunday morning, a little conscious of time because we had a train to catch, we sat at a table outside of the hotel to order breakfast. We were brought no menus or water (it was v warm) and so I nipped inside to ask for menus, the girl working was very curt when giving them to me. We went outside where the male server who was a little lacklustre was serving the table next to us.
A true gem in central London for solo travelers
I loved the coziness and comprehensiveness of services and amenities, never mind the central location. The morning staff who did breakfast service were especially delightful, and the bed, bathroom toiletries, and shower were up to my high standards. Unlike most hotels in London, it was also really, truly quiet at night. And the cocktail bar in the basement is such a lovely haven. Have the bar manager make you his favorite drink!
