Makes Fawlty Towers look good!

Cons: This hotel makes Fawlty Towers look like a well-run establishment. Hot room but no fans. Took 7 hours and 3 separate requests to get an extension lead to plug in my CPAP - no plugs near either side of the bed. Totally overbooked - watched a 4 bookings were told by receoption that their booking through Booking.com had been cancelled and they had no place to stay. (The hotel obviosly was taking direct bookings and offering free parking for those - and thus preferring them to the ones on which they need to pay commmission.) Many other issues. Best to completely avaoid this place.

Great location BUT …..

Pros: Provided parking which had to be paid for Cons: The rooms were not very clean & the bathroom was rather dirty, hair & dust and my son’s room still had dirty towel from last guest.

Great stay in the middle of Cambridge.

Pros: Location was great, close to the center, the universities, etc. Parking was well arranged, but apparently we missed that it was not free. It is an old building, my room was sloping, so the bed was also sloping to one side. I had to tweak the bed with the help of the extra pillows to get it completely horizontal. Breakfast was mediocre but sufficient. Staff helped us well in solving our problem with the rental car. Thank you very much for that! Cons: A bed that could have been a bit more horizontal, otherwise it was fine. A bit warm directly under the roof, with few ventilation options.

This is a beautiful, old-style hotel

This is a beautiful, old-style hotel. Some of the materials and furnishings are a bit worn, since the hotel is authentic, but you can tell they’re quality pieces that I hope will last for many more years. For me, every minute was pure pleasure, especially the variety of colors — so different from the grayness of modern design. It’s cozy and charming!
