Disappointing front desk costumer service

Pros: Close to the city center, there are tram stops nearby. Simple, but clean rooms, okay for one night stay. Cons: Front desk was unfriendly and unsupportive. We are a family of 5, and booked two rooms (2 and 3 beds) accordingly. Staff gave us rooms on different floors, despite asking for rooms next to each other. They handled the booking as they were two separate bookings for the two rooms, and didn't even want to understand why parents with small children need rooms close together (or people travelling together in general) .... A week before we has stayed in the same hotel chain in Vienna,
