Pros: Very central Cons: Nothing much
I enjoyed my stay excellent breakfast and attentive staff.
Pros: The hotel decor needs a bit of tlc, attention to detail on all the interior woodwork to match the the splendid architecture of the building. Cons: See above
Very disappointed
Pros: Very convenient location with parking, breakfast was very good. Cons: Hotel is very shabby indeed. Room was clean but badly needed a makeover. The bar had no ice and was out of many types of drinks. It was not open at all on the 2nd night of our stay. On one evening we had to call the nightmanager as the person next door was banging and crashing about at 2.30am. Turns out the council place homeless people in the hotel when they are having a mental health crisis! Would not recommend.
If offered room 205 on Fri/ Sat night immediately ask for a different room.
Pros: I was in room 205. The room was beautiful. Bed big and comfy. Had a bath and not just a shower. Had a closet to hang stuff up. TV also had a USBC wire to connect my Tablet to so I could watch Netflix Etc. Cons: This bit is what spoiled everything. If you are staying on a Friday and Sat night and NOT going to be out until 3am in the morning, if you are offered room 205 ask for a different room. There is a pub/club right outside this room and the volume of the music was so loud it made the room vibrate. I just could not sleep because of the music and people outside the pub/club shouting. T
I will remember the gorgeous staircase and the classic exterior of the Queens.
Pros: Lovely character property, with pleasant staff. Cons: Rather noisy outside in the evenings on weekends, although that’s not the hotel’s fault.
October here averages 9°C, with around 109 mm of rain across the month.
