Great location hotel with some disadvantages

Pros: The location of the hotel is perfect, looking at the canal. In just 10-15 minutes walk and you could be almost anywhere in the heart of Amsterdam. The hotel is nicely decorated and cozy while the reception-bar at the entrance 24/7 is really handy. The staff was polite and helpful. Cons: It is an old building and while everything seems to be put together nicely you cannot ignore the noise from people walking up and down the stairs. Our room for 5 people had an old fireplace and old furniture (e.g wardrobe), leaving a feeling of a not so clean place to sleep. Beware that there is no elevat
