Great spot from which to explore the surrounds of Castleton.

Pros: The property was nicely renovated and immaculately clean. One staff member, Diane, stood out for her exceptional service at breakfast time. Diane also did a brilliant job cleaning the rooms. Diane was friendly, efficient and welcoming. Cons: Unfortunately we were there in a heatwave so being an old pub there was no air conditioning. Most of the bar staff were completely uninterested in serving customers or being welcoming in any way.

Pros: What we loved: • Friendly and welcoming team • Cosy, charming décor that perfectly suits the character of the inn • Delicious food • Plenty of parking • Beautiful views • Stunning countryside with excellent walking routes • Child- and dog-friendly • Clean, tidy, and well maintained Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the countryside.
