A good compromise for one night

Pros: The "Mews" apartment overlooked a very quiet inner courtyard. Our apartment had two bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms. The staff was very kind and helpful. Cons: In our two-story apartment, the temperature on the upper level was really high, unlike the living room which remained cool and pleasant. Since the windows could only be opened a few centimeters, we were forced to sleep with the fans on. To access the Mews apartment, you have to go underground and for the breakfast room, a not very easy maze to venture into especially with bulky luggage. There is no elevator.

Perfect location, fabulous service, clean and well cared for.

The only things I would mark down are no air conditioning or lift but this is in keeping with the beautiful old buildings of Edinburgh. I have mobility issues and asked for assistance with my suitcase, which was received immediately and courteously. The location was excellent and the immediate area has lots of places to eat and drink. Regular buses run into the centre and are reasonable, as are taxi prices but the walk back is about ten mins and all d

Pros: We liked the ease with which we found it, in a very nice quiet road, the parking was good with places near to the hotel door so it was quick light work. We did pay for the secured parking off-road which was accessed via the back of the property it fits 6 small/medium cars, best to reverse in as it could be tight on maneuvering. The room was on the ground floor and other than the initial front steps were level, The breakfast room was in the basement level which involved a flight of stairs (no lift) I managed them ok, in the morning not too sure about doing them after a long day out.
