Campanile Hotel - Shanghai Jing'an Temple

Good for the price. Close to Jing 'an Temple and shopping areas and metro station. Easy to find places to eat nearby.

Pros: Room was clean and hotel is in a convenient location. Cons: There was the smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby and hotel corridors, even though smoking is not allowed within the hotel. Thankfully can't smell the smoke in the room. Customer service was ok, but it would be good for hotel staff to have basic knowledge of nearby eateries to suggest to hotel guests in future. We asked the staff via WeChat for Shanghai breakfast recommendations nearby and the response was that they were not sure as they typically order food deliveries (aka waimai).

Smoke smell in the lobby and corridors was very bad

Pros: Location was good. The staff even tho they spoke little English, they were very friendly. Cons: The cigarette/smoke smell in the lobby and corridors was awful. They did not have a single wine glass at the hotel. The sitting area outside wasn’t very clean.

Pros: Location was lovely, close to everywhere I needed to go plus lots of touristy stuff, bars, parks and restaurants. Staff were super nice Cons: Nothing worth mentioning

I only stayed for one night because I was only in Shanghai for a day, but when I visit again I plan to stay here longer. I came for the arcane immersive show, which was about a 3 mins walk from this hotel so it was perfect. The room was clean, a great size for the price and staff was friendly and professional. My flight arrived early and I was allowed to get/buy breakfast whilst I waited for my room to become available, and was able to check in a couple of hours early which was really appreciated after 11+ hour flight!
