Very pleasant
Pros: The location Cons: No Milk in fridge, most holiday cottages provide a pint on arrival
Great location and comfortable, the improved bathroom is a good improvement. Overall pleasent, could have been great wit
Pros: Great location and really good bed, fireplace and heating. Bedroom has been updated since the photos with a decent sized shower instead of bath. Cons: A few arrival basics would be good for the price and the lights left on etc so its just a bit more welcoming. Dishwasher not working and seen old reviews saying the same, so naturally nothing was as clean as it could have been as evident the plates etc had just been hand cleaned - in a rush. Similarly the garden just needed a bit of TLC.
Could not wait to get home.
Pros: The location was great . Cons: The facilities were poor. The second bedroom was dangerous. The photos on the website did not really show this and when looking you would never expect a second bedroom like this . The settee was uncomfortable and needs replacing. The kitchen was not fit for purpose . The whole property felt dirty.
With a little more care and attention this property could have been so much better…
Pros: The location was great. The could have been a fab little cottage…and some aspects were pleasant. Cons: As it was Christmas Eve when we arrived…it would have been a nice gesture to leave some fuel and maybe some sort of welcoming ‘Goodwill’ gesture… I did receive a message about fuel for the log burner …the day before our arrival, which should have been sent earlier, recommending we order a fuel pack. Luckily the local shop was still open and we managed to get a starter pack. For the amount of money paid I would have expected at least one pack to be included. The living room was free
Pros: Amazing cottage in a fantastic location right in the heart of Castleton whilst being so peaceful. Everything you could want, lovely fireplace and comfy lounge, with all the facilities and also dog friendly. The lovely host even packed and posted my mac book which I mistakenly left. So kind and would 1000% recommend to anyone looking for a fab stay in the Peak District. Cons: Nothing
