Think of it as staying in a friends home while they are out for a few days.
Pros: Lovely 'lived in' home. Full of interesting and eclectic furniture, pictures, photos, ornaments, personal items etc. Fascinating insight into the family members and background. Colourful mature garden. Cons: Staircase (to all bedrooms) is steep with a sharp turn with limited handrails. Because it's a home almost every cupboard, surface, fridge etc contains everything you would expect in a well stocked and used house. This leaves limited space/storage for guests to use. Road noise a concern if you need a quiet location.
A beautiful place to spend a really special weekend.
Pros: We stayed here to celebrate my Mum’s 80th birthday and had a wonderful time. The house is stunning, lots of room and very comfortable. It is 15 minutes into Bath by taxi (great for the Christmas market and San Remo Italian restaurant to be recommended), very close to Bath Spa university where my son studies and just round the corner from a very convenient shop and post office. The garden is enclosed, would be beautiful in Summer (we were there in December) and great for the dog. Best of all the owner very kindly baked a cake, meringues and ‘the best mince pies I’ve ever had’ said my
Made us appreciate how great it is to stay in a cottage. Everything was really good overall
Pros: There is every thing and I mean everything you could possibly want in a self-catering cottage. Very homely and an exception host who even made us a cake. Beautiful conservatory and garden. Cons: Limited shelf space and wardrobe space (lots of nick nacks and 'stuff' everywhere)
Great welcome, quirky cottage, great facilities.
Marion met us and showed us around. Also cake and tea/coffee available. Neighbour also met us later to see if needed anything
