For a maximum of two nights on the way through really ok.
Pros: the location in a green area, the breakfast, the proximity to Glasgow, parking
Cons: way too narrow 'Kingsize' bed in room no. 4 for two average-weight people, you could only sleep upright next to each other. The small room was completely painted in dark brown. It somehow felt like being in a darkroom. A bright wall would be really nice.

Always my place but not somewhere I will be revisiting
Pros: The hotel is in a great location and has some wonderful staff and a selection of local spirits in the bar.
Cons: The hotel has been decorated all over in a brown color and is very depressing and dull. Not sure how the staff enjoy working there as it must be depressing at times. The carpets and other furniture are in need of a good clean. I suppose the reason for this brown color is to hide the fact that the carpets are dirty, as is the overall appearance of this hotel, which is a shame as I remember when it first opened the color schemes were fantastic. The tartan used made this a place

Great staff
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful, especially the one in the grey suit whose name I didn't get, couldn't be more helpful
Cons: My wife and I were visiting from France for a family visit. There was a wedding going on and they were quite rowdy outside, continually swearing and openly taking cocaine. I paid for late check-out as I had a long drive, but your housekeeper knocked on the door at 11:45 and opened it, waking us up, which really annoyed us as I had a very long drive ahead.

A stay of two halves. Day 1 disappointing. Day 2 was 100% better
Pros: Location, Beer garden, New breakfast menu & buffet selection on the second day, Atmosphere on the second day, Great in-room pizza on the first night
Cons: Lack of atmosphere on the first morning, Limited breakfast menu and buffet on the first morning (this changed as the new menu was launched on our second morning), Some shabby curtains in the honeymoon suite and shower maintenance issues which unfortunately weren't resolved while we were there
