Perfect base for exploring Trinidad - Pam is a delight!
I chose the Forty Winks Inn based on vicinity to the Queen’s Park Savannah, mainly for the night market, the vicinity to the old part of Port of Spain for the old buildings, the local restaurants and also based on the description and reviews. Once I had booked, Pam (the owner) contacted me to check what time my flight was arriving. I was arriving in Trinidad at 0600 and I understood that check in was much later, so I requested to leave our bags at the Inn. Pam offered breakfast and an early check in for a small fee, and I graciously accepted. I’m glad I did. The Inn is a simple two leve
Pros and Cons
Pros: Pam (host) is great. Lots of knowledge and goes out of her way to be helpful. Central location. Shower worked well. Cons: Found dead bedbug on bed. WiFi cut out constantly, only available from a corner of the room, died often. Toilet broken, leaked on floor. Conclusion: accepting the bedbug, would have been acceptable at a lower price point. As is, I wouldn’t stay again.
Fantastic !
I recently sent a friend for a vacation to Forty Winks Inn at Port of Spain T&T. This was her first trip outside her home country, first time in an airport and first time on an airplane. She was travelling solo and a little nervous. I spoke to Pam at Forty Winks and explained all this to her. Pam assured me she would take good care of my friend from arrival to departure. Pam arranged for a Spanish speaking driver to pick my friend up at the airport and deliver her to the Inn. She and her staff bent over backwards to accommodate my friend and even took her out to show her the local tourist sigh
Forty Winks
Forty Winks is a great place to stay as a tourist due to its central location. It's just a short walk to Queen's Park Savannah, Ariapita Avenue, St. James place. Pam, the owner, is very helpful and had a wide suggestion of tips for us. The patio is a great place to relax and read a book. The neighborhood also felt safe to walk around in at night!
