Pros: The traditional onsen was pleasant. Cons: It feels a bit like the place is starting to fall apart. The shared room was exactly what you’d expect for the price (I was prepared for the beds to creak), but on the very first day, a guest got stuck in the bathroom, and then I almost did too; in the other bathroom, which could be used as an alternative, the toilet seat is half-detached from the single toilet bowl. As for the staff, we met a generally nice older gentleman, who, however, was unable to be present near the front desk for most of the day.

Pros: The Onsen, in-room eating / seating area and nice walk to the lake. Cons: We thought that the beds were larger, based on the photos, so had to use the futons, which actually reasonably comfortable.
