Pros: Highfield is a wonderful little place within 10 minutes drive of Livingston. It has everything you need and it's very private with off-street parking Cons: You need a car really, although there is a train station only a short walk from the cottage, but Kirknewton is miles from anywhere to eat or drink out, or any attractions.

Pros: A georgeous cottage in a beautiful, well-kept garden, owned by a very friendly couple. You cannot find a better place to enjoy the Scottish cottage feeling! Comfortable,heatable bed, fully equipped kitchen, tennis court! Train station and bus stop in 3 minutes far from the house, you can travel to the heart of Edinburgh in max. 35 minutes. Cons: -

Pros: The location, solitude, view, cleanliness facilities Cons: Iron could do with renewal - had wedding guest clothes to press from suitcase - base of iron had residue on it and was a bit worse for wear. I used the tea towel as a pressing cloth to save damage to my clothes. Replacement TV remote required - battery hatch held on with tape and very intermittent at working.
