The King Robert, Stirling

Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful, room small but clean, facilities fine. The restaurant was a great surprise, very good food and excellent service from a very knowledgeable young lady. She knew what an affogato was and put it together for us even though it wasn't on the menu. Cons: Not an attractive venue in an unattractive part of town. A long way from the city centre. Felt a captive audience. I thought the room was expensive given the above. A lot of custom via coach parties, not a negative in itself, but I think that very much allows a high room rate to be charged to, again, a captive
