Stylish and spacious hotel in the middle of town
Pros: Very well situated hotel, near the main tourist area and subway access to go to more remote sights. Rooms are spacious and it has a very stylish look. Cons: Breakfast buffet was ok, but not great value for money. You can order very nice dishes during breakfast though.
Good and highly recommended hotel
Pros: Location, cleanliness, good staff Cons: There is no laundry room in the hotel, although they arrange to send it for a fee and it takes a day to return. There is a laundry about a 10-minute walk away, but in July it is very hot and less comfortable.

We loved Kyoto. The hotel greatly contributed to it.
Pros: Perfect location near the Gion district, transportation (Kawaramachi), shops, and Nishiki Market. The hotel is very quiet and beautifully decorated. The staff is attentive, efficient, and professional. Special mention for the fantastic breakfast buffet. Cons: A space with washing machines could have been useful (especially during the summer heatwave) but it's very minor.
Great hotel, very clean and new with a fantastic location right in the middle of downtown Kyoto.
Pros: Great hotel. Hotel and facilities were very new and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was the best location if you want to be near the heart of Kyoto, with only a few steps to the intersection of Shijo-Kawarmarchi and hence close to all public transport. Cons: We couldn't really fault the hotel. As mentioned earlier the hotel is located in the middle of Kyoto, so if you were looking for a more peaceful and tranquil stay this is probably not the place to stay, but in saying that though, we couldn't hear any pedestrian or traffic noise from our room.
