Terrible experience for a 4-star hotel – avoid this hotel

Pros: The only upside was that the staff were pleasant to interact with. Cons: I will never stay at a Novotel again, and I would strongly advise friends and family to avoid this hotel. We stayed in an Executive Queen room, and despite being rated 4 stars, our experience was brutal. We visited during a heatwave, and the air conditioning in our first room did not work at all. On top of that, there was a lingering smell of cigarettes. After complaining, we were moved to a second room - which was completely inconvenient as we were in Newcastle for a lunchtime wedding and had very little time

Stayed here the night before a big interview and the staff were so helpful with last minute printing and wishing me luck

Pros: Breakfast was mediocre; evening meals were excellent. Cons: Room was good although could be cleaner and certain aspect needs fixing ie leak in shower room;
