Old Hall Hotel

OK but not as good as we expected

Pros: Room was fine Cons: Breakfast was very average. Buffet style but uninspired and very little choice Staff were fairly invisible. Is the hotel due for a shake-up? It had that feel about it

Lovely old hotel, needs better staffing.

Pros: Clean, spacious, comfortably furnished room. Tasty cooked breakfast, with decent strong coffee. Cons: Breakfast could have been better presented, eg more choice of breads/pastries and fruit. No lunch offering and Theatre Bar closed, despite the Opera Festival being in full swing and nearby lunch establishments being fully booked. Lack of staff on reception desk - there should have been a telephone/bell for when the desk wasn't manned, rather than expecting guests to go hunting for someone.

Lovely staff. Would come again.

Pros: Nice breakfast. Quiet room. Cons: The bedroom had five steps up to ensuite bathroom which was a challenge as mobility is reduced. Should have been informed. Also the lift got stuck on one floor several times. No late food in bar.

Disappointing

Pros: The room was comfortable. Good shower and coffee and tea making facilities. Cons: Lack of parking near the hotel could have been made clearer. The staff in the breakfast room and bar were not very friendly or accommodating. At breakfast there was no good morning just a shouted instruction from half way across the room to sit over there! We asked for tea in the afternoon and one of the cups was very dirty. I asked for it to be replaced which was met with a significant huff, no apology and a clean cup almost dropped on the table. After breakfast on the first morning we decided to go elsewh

Pros: Our room was lovely. We were able to park easily Cons: The breakfast experience was not great Items missing from table Staff seemed to lack enthusiasm and did not smile which was a shame I don’t know if they were understaffed or not morning people.lovely room food good.
