What a special place to have stayed! The Pax Guest House is located atop Mount Saint Augustine in one of the nicest locations on Trinidad. Fantastic views from this well-preserved guesthouse that dates to 1925. Fantastic hosts manage this property. They are very helpful and reliable. The guesthouse provides a very delicious breakfast in the morning. Guests should be mindful however that bathroom facilities for some rooms (not all) are shared with other guests.

The guest house is nestled just below Mount St Benedict’s monastery halfway up said mountain
The guest house is nestled just below Mount St Benedict’s monastery halfway up said mountain. As such the views are spectacular and the breeze is welcome in the face of the heat waves you can face in Trinidad. It has a decidedly olde worlde tenor with antiques throughout the common areas as well as the bedrooms. The proprietors are charming hosts and the continental breakfast is particularly good. This was my second stay. The highlight is seeing the droves of hummingbirds on the balcony which come to drink the sugar water hung in the tree. You can feel the beating of the wings.
