Excellent service - will definitely return

First time to Edinburgh for my boyfriends birthday. Staff went over and beyond to make our stay special . Thank you so much. I hoped to thank the manager in person but we had to leave for our train. Location is better in the old town where we were, more atmospheric. Premier room is what I expected, clean, tidy and all in working order.

Night at usher hall

Would highly recommend this hotel . Very clean and comfortable in a really good central location at a good price. We had a gig at usher hall so was perfect for us. Would definitely stay here again

Understaffed and chaotic breakfast service

The rooms would have a higher star rating - usual clean, comfortable Premier Inn rooms. Staff were also very welcoming and helpful. It is in a good location for the sights of Edinburgh. What let this hotel down was the chaotic, understaffed breakfast on two of our three mornings. Saturday was not too bad but someone had to be fetched from the dining room (by a guest) to deal with people at reception. On the Sunday, there was only one staff member who went to fetch a second when it got busy. However, we had to clear a table ourselves to use and there were no bowls, plates, mugs, cutlery, ju

Worst Food uninterested staff

After a long busy day was too tired to venture back out so went to Thyme restaurant. Food was awful, cold but overcooked , a handful Of fries and a burger you could sole your shoe with. Tomato soup came out congealed with the croutons that had been sat in it so long the soup had all been soaked up. Flat cola. Was charged full amount by staff member who was completely uninterested and couldn’t care less. AVOID!

Good location - lukewarm breakfasts.

The Premier Inn Lauriston Place is the branch we usually stay in when visiting Edinburgh as it is nicely situated close to the Grassmarket. Check in was friendly and efficient and our fifth floor room spacious and comfortable. The only slight downside is that the shower is one of those step into the bath and try to avoid the wet plastic curtain variety. No doubt a modern shower will be installed in due course. In previous visits to this branch we don’t recall ever having a properly hot buffet breakfast, and would normally give it a miss. As free breakfasts were included in our rate however we
