A lovely stay in a grand hotel, perfectly located near the centre of Cheltenham.
Pros: We had a spacious room, with extra large double bed which we like. The location in the centre was perfect. The breakfast, served in a charming room, was excellent as was the service. Cons: Nothing. We were pleased with everything and look forward to visiting again soon.
Glad we booked but had higher expectations for such high status hotel
Pros: Beautiful, historic and high status hotel. Lovely high-ceiling bedrooms, comfortable beds. Pleasant breakfast room. Friendly staff. And of course, a lovely location in the centre of town. Cons: Air conditioning in the second bedroom didn't work, said the exceptional heat this summer had put a strain on the capacity for the whole hotel and some rooms were not working. It was stiflingly hot and a fan provided simply circulated hot air, and there were no other rooms available. Clearly they knew this when we checked in. They stay was perfect, however the breakfast was not what we would expect, it was very dry I felt it was not made fresh
Pros: Staff were lovely the rooms were very clean overall a very nice stay. Cons: The dining room was a little dated and could do with freshening up.
Great hotel and super location. Will book here again next time I travel to Cheltenham.
Good breakfast, with the possibility to order several options such as a 'full English breakfast'.
