Clean, comfortable and a great alternative if you are attending a function at the Gailes Spa Hotel
Pros: The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was relaxing and great value with lots of choice. Cons: We stayed in 7 hotels this week in our tour around Scotland, all 4 star and this was the only one to not provide a complimentary bottle of water in the room. When I asked the reception staff if we could get a bottle of water I was told in an unfriendly manner to go to the bar and buy one. It’s a small thing but it’s makes the difference.

In overall everything was great including a really nice breakfast served in the hotel restaurant.
Pros: Quite nice cosy room, a good thing that a car park is in the property not in a public street. Cons: The shower pressure was a bit poor and it was problematic to shut a room door quietly, it slammed and seemingly it was not a problem only in our room because other guests’ door slamming woke us up at night.
