Good choice in Shanghai
Pros: Famous, historical hotel, right in front of People’s Park (several subway lines and the start of E Nanjing road) with very polite staff. Cons: Room and especially bathroom could be bigger. Still needing a little more refurbishing (one can hear the water running from next door). Breakfast with good food but not enough tables (one had to share table with strangers).

Pros: Location. History. Cons: Staff need to realize that the history will only carry you so far. China is changing they need to embrace tourism and be more considerate to outsiders.
