Smile Hotel Nagoya Shinkansenguchi

Pros: It was close to the train station, restaurants and convenience stores. Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly Cons: They were doing construction, so a bit noisy during the day. But that would be only temporary.

Pros: The hotel was clean and conveniently located next to Nagoya Station. Cons: We were there in early Aug and renovations to the upper floors were underway, resulting in a strong smell of paint in the lobby and lift which was slightly unpleasant. Nevertheless, we were not too bothered by it, but may be important for other guests to know.

Valuable for money, simple hotel

Pros: Valuable choice as a simple hotel. Room is large compared to other local Japanese hotels, you can easily open your suitcases and do your packing. Cons: Somehow the air conditioning is not strong enough. Room is quite hot in the afternoon. Very old toilet.

Cons: My plans changed, and I wanted to modify my stay. Despite doing it 24 hours before check-in, I was not allowed to do it and paid full price.
