Beautiful old building, grounds, canal access, great views & very friendly, cheerful staff, although at times clearly under pressure. Very good breakfast on both mornings. Accessible & good hot shower, comfortable beds. Negatives: We were in the family room, this involved going down & up 2 flights of stairs, with a very curious & dangerous configuration of steps at the top of the first flight, where you could not have both feet at the same level. However we found we could avoid this bit altogether, by going out through the front door, to access the second up flight. Then down 2 further flights

Comfortable room, courteous staff, but slightly old in places
The staff were absolutely amazing all going above and beyond, the meals were fabulous and beautiful grounds to explore. There are a lot of stairs to navigate and I wish the windows had screens to keep insects out. For some reason my bathroom didn't have a ceiling fan so the room lacked air circulating which will unfortunately create moisture issues - hopefully this will be fixed.
One night stopover.
First of all it looks amazing from out side, front and back. The inside doesn't dissapoint either. The bedrooms on the other hand are in the newer style annex but to a good standard. We had a campervan which was easy to park in the big carpark at the front.
Not bad hotel
Hotel was okay but food very expensive and not very good quality for the money
