The George of Colchester

What a fantastic Hotel , with great decor , ideally positioned in the heart of Colchester , great staff and delicious breakfast .. only criticism was that I had a sleepless night , Due to an issue with the toilet in our room that meant the water was constantly noisily running into the toilet and couldn’t be used , I mentioned this to a staff member who said it was usually an easy fix by pressing the flusher a few times ( which would indicate it’s an ongoing issue with the toilets ) and when she tried this and it didn’t work I was told that maintenance would have to look at it on Monday ..

Very nice clean room

Beautiful hotel room and the bar is stunning! But if you have a room overlooking the high street expect some noise especially on a Saturday night. This didn’t impact us as we were up late anyway.

Lovely room Well equipped and comfortable My stay was short because of my schedule, but if I am in the area again I would choose to stay at the same place Parking is a public lot right behind the hotel Hotel is right in the centre of town Staff were very helpful over the phone and gave instructions and useful information which assisted me getting where I needed to be in time

As central as it gets. Walking distance to everything in Colchester. Very friendly staff. Clean.
