Car parking is a farce , you have to pay and display in the car park 7.00 AM- 6.00pm , so if you check at 2.00pm you are charged £5.00 to park up to 6.00 PM . The biggest hassle is you then have to pay again from 7.AM the next morning so you have to set your alarm to make the payment on time
Excellent service and rooms very clean, breakfast is excellent, can’t fault it
Nice old building, lovely receptionists, no heating in the room or bathroom when outside temperature was 4 C - freezing cold inside
Lovely little gem - my room was in good condition given very old building and slept well and thoroughly enjoyed my full English breakfast! Staff very attentive and friendly
Expectations should be tempered by the fact that this is a 300 y.o. building on a very busy road in the middle of town. Bearing that in mind the hotel is very clean and full of character which makes up for any of the above. They no longer do evening meals but the breakfasts are epic.
October here averages 10°C, with around 76 mm of rain across the month.
