Yes I'd go back, the good points outweighed the issues

Pros: Staff, food and decor were excellent. Best fish and chips I've had. The location in a very pretty village was excellent. Bed was very comfortable, I wish I had more time in it. Hot water was almost instant. We were there for only two nights but I would have liked to stay longer. Cons: Clearly a lot of money had been spent at one time on the room, in particular the door furniture and bathroom fittings. However, I suspect since the take over by Youngs, they had fallen into disprepair, Door handles hung loose and the towel rail in the toilet was missing. I would have liked a shower curtai

A lovely place for stay in a beautiful village in the Sussex countryside.

Pros: Delicious lunch on arrival and god breakfast the following morning. Helpful service and a lovely location. Bed and comfortable and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Cons: Better fan or air conditioning is needed to make rooms comfortable in really hot weather. This was the only thing and spoilt my stay.

All in all it was quite a disappointing experience. We missed the “old” charm of The Griffin Inn.

Pros: Since 2013 we have been visiting The Griffin Inn in Fletching from time to time. It had always been a pleasure, the staff used to be very friendly and welcoming, and the food excellent and to a very high standard. The location ist still perfect, the street picturesque, the garden of the establishment as lovely as ever, and the beds very comfortable. Cons: Unfortunately we didn’t realise that there had been a change in ownership. The quality and presentation of the food was poor, the staff inattentive, sometimes even rude. My daughter ordered an alcohol free beer but she was served one
