I had a simply perfect experience at The House of Sandeman. I stayed in a superior room overlooking the Douro River and it was undoubtedly one of the best experiences I have ever had in Porto, a city that I am passionate about. Great breakfast. Room 14 is not a problem as the beds are well spaced. Very pleasant staff, and the location is ideal.

Pros: Cool design matching the theme of Port wine; great location and view; if you understand the online ordering, great breakfast ;-) Cons: Unfortunately no elevator - inconvenient with luggage; unfortunately no discount at a nearby garage - making parking expensive

Pros: Amazing place, doesn't even look like a hostel, the level of cleanliness, structure, and atmosphere is like a hotel. I will return more often! Cons: Upon arrival to enter there are two flights of stairs and I had to carry the suitcases, just warning because it can be difficult for those with any limitations.
