Ideally situated for us this weekend. The bed not the best but very friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast.

The whole of the personnel at THE RISING SUN worked as a team to make our stay [my wife and I] a memorable one from our welcome with a beaming smile on Wedensday just after 2 to our departure today [Friday] just before 10. On our first evening there were two problems with our room - a faulty light and curtains that let the light in BUT BOTH were immediately fixed to everyone's satisfaction - fabulous! Firstly, as this is important for me, gluten free options have to be requested before visit, but there is no guarantee it will be seen. It’s a spotlessly clean hotel, with friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are big and try to choose the more comfortable bed for a better nights sleep, however the better bed is like sleeping on top of a plate of jelly. Nice hotel with friendly staff, great breakfast!

Although an older property, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great and Jane was very friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely stay again if in the area.
