Great stay
Pros: It was close to York Barbican Cons: Windows you could hear everything though them. Actually thought someone was in the room. And the green light near door
It was ok
Pros: The location was good, (20 mins walk into the centre,)although it is on a busy crossroads, but that didn’t bother us. The staff were lovely and friendly. And it was a bonus that we could leave our car in their car park whilst we had our afternoon in York. Cons: I think we had the room with the boiler cupboard, so it was constantly going off I’m presuming whenever someone was running a tap, so that kept waking me up, the shower was also very poor pressure, maybe when more than one room is using their showers? . The room & bathroom were clean but the bathroom mirror was smeared from it bei
Very pleasant friendly stay at the Victoria!
Pros: Ideal location for the Barbican venue. Comfortable bed, nice towels, very helpful and friendly landlord. Tasty and filling breakfast included in the price. Cons: Bathroom plumbing rather noisy. No ledge or holder to put soap or gel on in the shower.
A traditional, friendly pub that makes a great fry up in the morning!
Pros: We thought the Victoria was very good value for money. It was easy to walk to and from the city centre (approx. 15 mins) and access the various attractions so there was no need to drive during our stay. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Cons: This is a very small thing but the WiFi wasn't great.
Stayed here a few times due to it being within walking distance to York Barbican. It has a great bar with a very wide selection of whatever takes your fancy.
October here averages 10°C, with around 74 mm of rain across the month.
