Fabulous hotel in a great location

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting Shanghai. The location was perfect for exploring on foot & by metro. The rooms were comfortable, well equipped & spacious. The breakfast was very varied & lots of choice. The staff were very courteous & we will definitely stay here again when we visit Shanghai

not a boutique hotel at all!

we chose this hotel based on the good reviews and stayed for many nights but we were quite disappointed. if you treat it as an ordinary 3.5 to a 4 star hotel it is good. However, if you are expecting the charms of a boutique hotel, you will be disappointed. I choose to stay in boutique hotels wherever i go as generally, you get a very special experience but in this case, i don't think they know the first thing of what it means to run a boutique hotel. First, let's look at the positives. 1) the location is good - 3 minutes walk to nanjing main drag and close to restaurants and shops. 2) rooms

The Yangtze is a great hotel. This is our third stay here and we are going back next week before our trip ends. The staff are all very helpful. Our flight arrived early in the morning and we were able to leave our bags with concierge until we could check in properly. Our room was a really spacious room and the bath and shower area was big! The bath itself is huge and really deep (we don’t have a bath at home so we really appreciated it). One minor issue with the turndown service, they only turndown one side of the bed, but there was two of us so one of us was left out every night. Overall,

1930s in the 2020s - something different in Shanghai

As we know from previous visits, Shanghai has a great many first class hotels (usually at remarkably reasonable prices); but this time we thought we would look for something a bit different. The Yangtze dates from the 1930s and so has a history which gies back to the remarkable days of the foreign traders in the city. It is a few steps from People's Park; a few more bring you to Nanjing Road; and it is a short walke to the Bund. The hotel was completely refurbished a few years back, with the aim of recreating the 1930s in style yet delivering modern services. Its rooms are large for that time
