Lots of character, lovely staff but price not worth the maintenance problems

Pros: The townhouse is furnished with vintage decor and lot of English character. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Great cocktails at the parlour bar and nice atmosphere. Cons: We had electrical issues in our room - the television and outlets did not work on one wall. In the middle of the night we were awakened by strobing emergency spot lights in the ceiling. This happened a couple times at 1-2am and we didn’t know what was happening. It was alarming. We were offered a switch to a nicer room which we gladly accepted. Great hotel for a short but busy stay.

Pros: Location was excellent, easy walk to tube and main shopping district. Easy area to hail a taxi and a short walk to buses. All interactions with staff were very positive and everyone was very friendly. Cons: Not sure I like the Rule Britannia themed decor. I thought breakfast for £28 was incredibly expensive when there are so many places nearby to have breakfast.

Style over substance

Pros: The Zetter is a beautiful hotel with quirky decor and a comfortable feel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Cons: Unfortunately there were 2 big issues during my stay - the air conditioning in the ceiling was dripping on the floor all night and a fire alarm went off at 3.30am, keeping me awake for 2 hours. No compensation was offered for either of these problems, despite me reporting those to the front desk.

Loved it, will be back!

Pros: Gorgeous interiors and convenient location Cons: Staff wasn’t always available, sometimes you’d have to wait for a while or just leave the key at the desk rather than hand it off to a person

Unexpectedly good.

Pros: We had a room on a top floor with an outside bath on the roof. Good idea. Cons: Bottled water in the room was bad (it was tap water in the bottle).
