Es Migjorn Gran is one of Menorca's smallest and least-visited inland towns, a whitewashed cluster of streets with no real sightseeing agenda beyond its own quietness. It matters mainly as a base for the south coast's best beaches — Cala Mitjana, Cala Trebalúger and Sant Tomàs are all within easy reach — and for the Barranc de Binigaus, a gorge walk down to the sea that's among the better hikes on the island.

Be honest: there's little to do in the village itself, no real nightlife, and you'll need a car, since buses are infrequent and the coast is a few kilometres off. It's also a longer drive from Menorca Airport than the resort towns, so it suits travellers prioritising quiet and nature over convenience.
