Hotels in Gabicce Mare

Gabicce Mare is the last beach town on the Romagna Riviera before the coast turns wild, though it technically sits just over the border in the Marche region. It runs straight into Cattolica on one side, while on the other the green headland of Monte San Bartolo rises sharply, with the old hilltop village of Gabicce Monte looking down over the Adriatic. That backdrop gives it more character than the flat resort strips further north, and the coastal road and trails through the San Bartolo natural park toward Pesaro are a genuine draw.

Be honest: the sandy beach is the classic Italian lido setup, with rows of rented umbrellas and sunbeds, the shallow Adriatic isn't the clearest water, and in August the place fills with Italian families while much of it winds down out of season. It is a small, easygoing family resort rather than a destination for nightlife or culture, and Rimini's Federico Fellini airport is within easy driving distance. Stay along the seafront toward the headland end, where you're closest to the beach, the port and the walk up to Gabicce Monte.
