Karaburun sits at the tip of a peninsula west of Izmir, a small fishing town that's stayed quiet mostly because the roads in are winding and the pace is deliberately slow. It's known for clean, cool Aegean water, wild herbs and honey sold roadside, and a coastline of coves rather than one big beach — Ayı Limanı and Mordoğan's shoreline draw the weekend crowd from Izmir, but during the week it's largely locals and fishermen.
