Hotels in Karaburun

Karaburun sits at the tip of a peninsula west of Izmir, a small fishing town that's stayed quiet mostly because the roads in are winding and the pace is deliberately slow. It's known for clean, cool Aegean water, wild herbs and honey sold roadside, and a coastline of coves rather than one big beach — Ayı Limanı and Mordoğan's shoreline draw the weekend crowd from Izmir, but during the week it's largely locals and fishermen.

Be honest: this isn't a resort town, nightlife is minimal, and the harbour village itself has little in the way of sights beyond a few Ottoman remnants and the walk up to the lighthouse. Stay in Karaburun town itself for boat access and harbourside fish dinners, since the outlying coves have little infrastructure of their own.
