Hotels in Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar is a package-holiday resort on the Costa Brava, built around a long stretch of Blue Flag sand backed by high-rise hotels, bars and clubs rather than historic streets. It has a reputation as one of the liveliest nightlife spots on the Spanish coast, with clubs staying open till dawn and international DJs booked through summer, great if that is what you want, less so if you prefer quiet evenings.

Water World, one of Europe's larger water parks, and boat trips to quieter coves like Santa Cristina give it more range than the nightlife alone suggests. It is built for holidaymakers rather than culture, so do not expect much beyond the beach, the clubs and the odd Modernista villa left from its fishing-port past. Stay along the main Lloret beachfront for nightlife, or Fenals for a quieter version of the same resort.
